Crystal Shen, MD, MPH is a pediatrician who is passionate about youth tobacco & vaping prevention and cessation.  Clinically, she works as a primary care pediatrician in the greater Seattle area, where she serves Medicaid patients including many immigrant families. Working with students in eastern Washington sparked her interests in vaping prevention work. Experiences counseling youth in clinic about the health impact of vaping have continued to fuel her commitment to this work, on both an individual patient level and on a broader level.  She serves as a founding steering committee member of Washington Breathes.  She has worked with pediatricians across the nation as the American Academy of Pediatrics Washington State E-Cigarette Chapter Champion. As the Washington Chapter of the AAP’s Legislative Committee Co-Chair, she has led advocacy efforts on issues impacting child health in WA state, including testifying on Tobacco 21 legislation and other legislation to help protect youth from the harms of nicotine addiction.
